about the author
I am the eldest of four siblings, born in Western New York on the shores of Lake Erie. As a child watching my parents, both blue collar workers, I learned the satisfaction of hard work, as well as endurance, resourcefulness, and patience. In high school when I started dating, my mother gave me some advice on relationships: Treat a woman with respect, treat her the way you want to be treated, and never, ever, ask or tell a womans age. Advice I still follow.
In college, my father told me to be multidimensional and self-sufficient. I took his advice to heart and did volunteer cancer research, as well as managed an art gallery featuring only female artists, in addition to my studies. When I was moving to Houston my mother said, watch out for those smooth talkin’, big city women, they’ll break your heart son. Damn if she wasn’t right. My father just shook my hand and told me to be myself.
Houston allowed me to explore a myriad of cultures, cuisine, and social philosophies. Without realizing it, over time I achieved the multidimensionality my father advised. For decades I worked as an architect on domestic and international projects that allowed me to travel the world. As a strategic planner I wrote a myriad of IT white papers for management on cutting-edge software and hardware, highlighting how adopting these advances could make their Fortune 500 company more competitive.
Ultimately, I’ve transitioned to writing, becoming a published author and writer, contributing to an array of media outlets and publishing papers on various subjects for NASA conferences . Currently I serve as President of a Texas-consortium that serves my design and writing efforts. I remain in Houston, sharing my life with my wife of thirty years, full of love and my cooking.
